Master Series – October 13th, 20th, 27th “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” Luke 6:46

October 10, 2013 by admin@rivertownchurch.com

Master

LORD JESUS! You’ve either said these sacred words yourself, or you’ve heard somebody else say them. But have you ever stopped to think: “Why DO you we call Him ‘Lord’ and then NOT DO what He tells us?” That’s Jesus’s question in Luke 6:46. It’s a legitimate question and it deserves a legitimate answer. This October at RiverTown, let’s finally answer our LORD’S question.[divider]

What Kind Of Master? – October 13th

“Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Luke 6:46

What Kind Of Servant? A BOND SERVANT Says! “It Serves Me To Serve My MASTER.”

John 13:12, 13 (Amplified Version) So when He had finished washing their feet and had put on His garments and had sat down again, He said to them, Do you understand what I have done to you? 13 You call Me the Teacher (Master) and the Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is what I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher (Master), have washed your feet, you ought, it is your duty, you are under obligation, you owe it, to wash one another’s feet.

Philippians 1:1 Paul and Timothy, bond-servants of Christ Jesus.

How To Make Big Decisions Like Jesus – October 20th

Have You Ever Made A Bad Decision While Thinking It Was A Good (God) Decision?

He also spoke this parable to them: “The blind cannot show the way to the blind, can he? Won’t they both fall into a pit? A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher. Luke 6:39, 40 (NIV)
THE BEST DECISION FOR MY MASTER’S KINGDOM… WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST DECISION FOR ME!

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33 (NASB)

How To Make Decisions Like Jesus, The MASTER Decision Maker:

1. The Bible. Matthew 4:4, 7, 10

The Big Serve Sermon – October 27th

Besides Our Own Church Family, Who In Our Community Would Notice If RiverTown Church Disappeared?

I’d Rather See A Sermon Than Hear One Any Day. – Edgar Guest

The Purpose Of THE BIG SERVE Is To Help Me Become A BIG SERVANT!

1. Laundry Love

2. Serve Our Neighbors

3. Halloween Yard Parties

4. Fall Back Service

A Big Servant Is One Who Stoops To The Lowest Place On Purpose.

LUKE 14:7-11

How Do I Become A BIG SERVANT?

1. HEART: Choose The Lowest Place And Let God Be The One To Lift You Higher.

2. HAND: Find A Need And Fill It! Find A Hurt And Heal It! Find A Chasm And Bridge It.

Sometimes You Have To Do The Deeds Of Christ In Order To Hear The Words Of Christ.

People May Forget Everything You Say, But They Will Never Forget How You Made Them Feel.[/item][/slider]
