Who Should I Vote For? Part 1

Wouldn’t It Be Great… Who Should I Vote For? Oct. 23 2016 ...if our country wasn’t so divided and angered by the presidential election. ...if there was someone running for president that wasn’t tainted by immorality and corruption. ...if we could get completely unbiased information about our presidential candidates. ...if we could trust candidates to keep the promises in their platform. ...if your choice in this presidential election was simple, easy and without regret. Let’s Talk About The Vote: Your Vote Is A Sacred Trust Given By God. It Has Been Paid For In The Blood Of Patriots For 240 Years. Not Voting Is Not An Option. Failing To Vote Simply Helps To Elect One Of The Candidates. Voting For A Third Party Candidate Also Helps To Elect One Of The Other Candidates. So, Your Back Is Against The Wall. You Have A Difficult Choice To Make. What Are You Going To Do? The Question Of Hope: Can An Immoral Or Corrupt Political Leader Govern Ethically And Be Used For God’s Purposes? Players In The Biblical Story Of Esther: 1. THE JEWS - That’s Biblical Christianity In America Under A Threatened And Decaying Judeo-Christian Legal Code. “Then Haman said to King Xerxes, “There is a certain people dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom who keep themselves separate. Their customs are different from those of all other people, and they do not obey the king’s laws; it is not in the king’s best interest to tolerate them. 9If it pleases the king, let a decree be issued to destroy them, and I will give ten thousand talents of silver to the king’s administrators for the royal treasury.” Esther 3:8-9 2. THE KING - That’s The Candidates And The Consequences Of Their Proposed Policies For Our Nation. “All the king’s officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned the king has but one law: that they be put to death unless the king extends the gold scepter to them and spares their lives.” Esther 4:11 3. ESTHER - That’s You! You’ve Got To Choose A Dangerous Candidate Through Whom You Believe God Will Work To Accomplish His Purposes In The World. “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14 Esther’s Plan For Action: 1. Get Past The Political Personalities: Neither Candidate Is Free From Corrupt Practices Or Immoral Lifestyles. The Candidate That Sickens You The Most Tells More About You Than Them. 2. Consider The Policies Biblically: Supreme Court Justices, Marriage, Abortion, Religious Liberty, Gender Identity, Immigration, Racial & Women’s Equality. 3. Trust God In Prayer: “Then the king extended the gold scepter to Esther and she arose and stood before him. 5“If it pleases the king,” she said, “and if he regards me with favor and thinks it the right thing to do, and if he is pleased with me, let an order be written overruling the dispatches that Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, devised and wrote to destroy the Jews in all the king’s provinces.6 For how can I bear to see disaster fall on my people? How can I bear to see the destruction of my family?” “The king’s edict granted the Jews in every city the right to assemble and protect themselves;” Esther 8 :4-6, 11
